Domain Nameservers

For a domain to work on VARiHOST web hosting and email, the domain nameservers must be set as detailed below:

Nameserver 1: ns.mainnameserver.com
IP (not always required): 82.110.105.2

Nameserver 2: ns2.mainnameserver.com
IP (not always required): 82.110.105.3

Nameserver changes can usually be made online via the registrar /domain management company your domain was registered with.

Once nameserver changes have been submitted to the registrar, allow up to 48 hours for the changes to fully propagate. Please create a support ticket, advising VARiHOST of the changes that have been made.

Email Settings

Email client settings (e.g. for Microsoft Outlook Express, Outlook, Thunderbird etc)

Once you’ve created a mailbox in your VARiHOST Hosting Control Panel, you can use the following details to setup the new email account to send/receive/manage email in your email program.

POP3 Server: mail.yourdomain.co.uk
SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.co.uk
Username: you@yourdomain.co.uk
Password: your email password

* Please replace instances of ‘yourdomain.co.uk’ with your own account domain name.

** Outgoing SMTP server requires authentication to send mail. This option needs to be selected when configuring your email client (i.e. Outlook, Thuderbird etc). The same authentication settings are used as per the incoming (POP) mail server (Username and password).

*** Standard/Default SMTP port is 25. We also provide port 587, should you experience any problems connecting to port 25 from your network/ISP.

WebMail Access

You can use our professional webmail application to login to your mailbox and manage your email, go to:

Domain Transfers (IN)

Please view our Domain Transfer page.

Full Control and FTP access

With all accounts, you have full access to your account. You can FTP files to your web space, upload any theme or plugin.

You can find full FTP details in your Hosting Control Panel.  These are located on the right side of the main home page of the control panel.

If your domain is not yet transfered or you’re waiting for a new domain to become functional, you should use the FTP IP address supplied to access via FTP.

SSH Access Request

To enhance system security SSH access on hosting accounts is not enabled by default. To enable SSH access we need to receive a signed SSH contract.

You download the form here:

http://www.varihost.net/docs/ssh-access-request.pdf

Once you have completed this form please return it to us with a copy of a utility bill and either a copy of your photo card driving license or the photo page of your passport.

Completed forms should be scanned and emailed to support@varihost.net
