    instead of using our Shared SSL service. This makes your site look more professional and secure.

    Shared SSL

    Our Shared SSL service provides 10MB of 128-bit SSL web space. You receive an address similar to the following:

    https://vault2.secured-url.com/yourfoldername

    On this space you can create sub folders as required. Scripting supported is *ASP.NET 2.0, ASP, PHP, **Ruby and *ODBC data sources. All for £50 per annum.

    What is SSL ?

    Secure Socket Layer (SSL), is a method of encrypting (scrambling) information passed between your visitor and your website. So if any information is intercepted, it won't be of any use because it's encrypted.

    Our SSL servers use 128-bit SSL encryption provided by Thawte™and GeoTrust™ .

    What benefit is it to my website ?

    Many online shoppers are aware that 'transactions' carried out over the internet should be done on a SSL secured webspace.

    They know to look for the 'https://' in the browser address bar and for the small padlock that appears and indicates a SSL connection.

    If these indications are not present, most shoppers will not complete the transaction. You'll lose customers.

    Actual payment transactions are usually carried out using a third party payment provider, who utilise SSL already on their site. However, the initial order and customer details are collected beforehand, on your website and passed to the payment provider.

    Although this stage of the order doesn't necessarily need to use SSL, it can be a good tool for boosting the customers confidence to see the SSL indications mentioned above, at the very start of the order.
